Cameryn Norris is a 19-year-old Sophomore studying Studio Art and Art History at James Madison University (JMU) in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She is originally from Richmond, Virginia, but now lives in Lynchburg, Virginia, with her family when she is not at JMU.
Cameryn is involved with several organizations at JMU. She participated in Make Your Mark on Madison, a leadership program, in Fall 2019. She has been an intern at JMU X-Labs since Fall 2019. Most recentlyIn Make Your Mark on Madison, Cameryn served as was apart of a First-Year Orientation Guide on the 2020 JMU Orientation Teamleadership council with nine other students and two leadership councilors. She will also be initiated into Kappa Pi, an art honors fraternity, during Fall 2020participated in discussions and activities that further grew her leadership skills.
Cameryn has been an intern at JMU X-Labs since Fall 2019. JMU X-Labs is an on-campus resource where students can utilize technology such as a laser cutter, vinyl cutter, 3-D printing, virtual reality, and more. There, Cameryn helps facilitate Open Lab and helps students work on their own projects. She also teaches pop-up classes, helps with social media and marketing, and works on the JMU X-Labs podcast.  Most recently, Cameryn served as a First-Year Orientation Guide on the 2020 JMU Orientation Team. She helped acclimate a group of 15 First-Year students to James Madison University's campus. Cameryn will continue to mentor these students throughout the 2020-2021 academic school year.  Cameryn will also be initiated into James Madison University's Kappa Pi chapter during Fall 2020. Kappa Pi is an International Art Honor Society focused on philanthropy, community engagement, and professional development.  Cameryn hopes to graduate in May 2023 and attend graduate school, also at James Madison University, and become a double duke.
