Jasmine Mok is a passionate and versatile student majoring in Contemporary English Studies at Lingnan University with a minor in Translation. As a local student from Hong Kong, she is known among her peers and professors for her curiosity, creativity, and dedication to fostering cross-cultural communication. They describe her as an open-minded individual with a genuine enthusiasm for learning and a strong commitment to promoting inclusivity within and beyond the classroom. Her peers highlight her leadership, innovative thinking, and ability to bring people together, making her a respected figure in various university activities and initiatives.
Fluent in four languages—Cantonese, English, Mandarin, and Korean—Jasmine has a deep love for communicating with people from different backgrounds. Her passion for languages extends beyond her current abilities, as she is always eager to learn more, including Japanese and Spanish. Whether helping international students adjust to life in Hong Kong or participating in cultural exchange activities, Jasmine uses her multilingual skills to build meaningful connections and break down language barriers. Jasmine's academic and extracurricular achievements reflect a strong commitment to positively impacting locally and internationallyglocaly. One of her most significant experiences was the semester-long exchange program at West Virginia University, United States, in Spring 2024, which expanded her cross-cultural perspective and strengthened her communication skills. This opportunity allowed her to interact with students from various backgrounds different nationalities and learn about global communication challenges firsthand. Her ability to adapt to new environments and excel in this program speaks to her resilience and intellectual curiosity. Her leadership shone brightly during the Asia Pacific Youth Convention in Nepal, where she was awarded the "Best Talent Award" and the "Most Inspiring Delegate" award. As the organizer of three "cultural nights" during the five-day convention, she played a key role in fostering unity and inclusivity among participants from various countries. Her coordination of performances and cultural activities helped create an engaging and inclusive environment, showcasing her skills in event management and her passion for cultural exchange.
