Pierre Kapiamba Mbala is a nine-teen-year-old Congolese male who is studying Engineering and African African American Diaspora Studies at James Madison University on the full-tuition scholarship Centennial Scholars. He is moved by the unjustified levels of child exploitation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo where children as young as 6 are snared in precious mineral mining operations.

Pierre Kapiamba Mbala is a nine-teen-year-old Congolese male who is studying Engineering and African African American Diaspora Studies at James Madison University (JMU) on the full-tuition scholarship Centennial Scholars. Through the Centennial Scholars program Pierre has completed over 100 hours of community service while working with people most marginalized. This work along with his life long passion of supporting teens in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) who are ensnared in precious mineral mining operations is why he hopes to create a non-profit that aims to increase the educational opportunities of Congolese teens.
