My name is Jaymie Marie Velasquez, and I is a University Innovation Fellow from the Spring 2015 cohort. She was born and raised in Santa Fe, NM but have been in Las Cruces, NM since 2011 for collegeNew Mexico. I am As a LOVER of learning and knowledge, (which comes from my mother who is a Kindergarten teacher and my dad who is a rancher turned civil engineer), and have she has spent my college her undergraduate career just being inspired by all the different kinds of people around mefrom all walks of life. College for me needed She was fortunate to be about ME, and all the things I wanted to experience or learn how to do and the person I aspire to be, not just what classes I needed to fulfill my complete a large portion of her foreign languages degree requirement. Itin Costa Rica, in many ways has been where she developed a scholastic academic playground: I changed majors four times, profound love of engineering principles and took horseback riding classes, Spanish classes (that led to my first degree), solving real world problems such as safe transportation and dance classes (that led to joining a Latin/Ballroom company)clean drinking water. I cannot say enough about the adventure it has been, and I am having entirely way too much fun with the journey. I consider myself She is by nature a literary mind, and would at some point love aspires to get a graduate degree in literature or Chicano studies, but at the moment am is finishing up my undergraduate degree her Bachelor's of Science in Chemical Engineering.
I am not certain Starting the NMSU Aggie Innovation Space from the ground up, and working as an undergraduate technical intern at Intel Corporation has enhanced her passion for student engagement outside the classroom, and has taught her that the true value in education extends much farther than the confines of a lecture hall. At this point , she is uncertain as to what my her next step will be upon completion of my undergraduate degreesgraduation, but I am is deeply passionate about STEM education, curriculum instruction, technology development, and above all know that I will be successful and resourceful endeavor to pursue excellence while helping others achieve success in whatever endeavors I pursueways possible.
