Emma May is a University Innovation Fellow at the Colorado school of Mines. She is a sophomore studying Computer Science. She works with Discovering Technology, a program dedicated to encouraging elementary and middle school girls to pursue their interest in STEM fields. 

On the Mines campus, Emma hopes to reshape the standard teaching practices. She is currently working to reimagine the freshman cornerstone design class at Mines by integrating better team development, design thinking and fun! She is also working with other Fellows to design an app to re-imagine the college application process. In the future, Emma hopes to make huge changes to our education system to encourage creativity and student ownership of learning.
