Bio
Rudi Marciniak is a doctoral student in the PhD Health Sciences program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) where her studies and research are centered on exercise physiology and human performance. Rudi attained her Bachelor of Science (2013) and Master of Science (2015) degrees in Kinesiology from UWM and, prior to returning to school to pursue her doctorate in 2018, Rudi worked in the healthcare private sector for nearly 3 years.
Throughout her undergraduate and graduate school careers, Rudi has been active in the UWM community, where she has served as a Research Assistant in the Human Performance & Sport Physiology Laboratory, Vice President of the Sport Psychology & Performance Excellence Student Organization, and Secretary of the Kinesiology Graduate Student Organization. Rudi was awarded the College of Health Sciences Doctoral Student Research Grant in 2019 and achieved 1st place in the UWM 3-Minute Thesis Competition in 2020 where she presented the results from the funded research project. She is also active in several professional organizations, including the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), where she is an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C) and a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F).
Rudi is passionate about serving others at UWM and the surrounding Milwaukee community. Though originally from southwestern Wisconsin, the 10+ years Rudi has spent at UWM and in the Greater Milwaukee area has provided her an appreciation for metropolitan student life, entrepreneurial growth, and positive change both on- and off-campus. As a University Innovation Fellow, Rudi seeks to contribute to forward-thinking change at UWM.
