About Abhi

Abhi is committed to building a sustainable local and global community by developing renewable energy systems in Michigan and beyond.  Abhi is currently working towards a PhD in Computer Science at Michigan Technological University, focusing on applying Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques to electric power systems.  He builds models that forecast renewable energy resources, design autonomous agent-based operational control systems, optimize market performance of renewables and integrate them into the energy infrastructure.  Beyond this work, Abhi also contributes to the transformation of Michigan’s energy landscape through policy advocacy, service leadership and stewardship.  He has a BE in Electrical Engineering from Anna University, where he focused on power systems and applied electronics, and then received an MS in Physics from Michigan Tech, where he studied astrophysics and applied physics.  Abhi is currently working on a number of grant-funded projects that contribute to the advancement of solar energy in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and across the state, through youth outreach and education, community development and industrial partnerships.
