Fellow:Stefanos Charalambous
Stefanos is a Candidate for Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, who is passionate about the intersection between creative mechanical design, robotics and human-centered design; in pursuit of this unique intersection, his vision is to design and deploy robots for social impact
As a Workshop Lead and Teaching Assistant at the Innovation & Design Collaborative, the Senior Executive Officer at OpenIDEO Atlanta Chapter at Georgia Tech and a Mechanical Design Engineer at an ocean-cleaning project, Stefanos has gained a diverse range of experiences that align with his vision
He has studied abroad twice at Georgia Tech Lorraine in France, and interned at Technical University of Munich in Germany. Through his time in Europe, he came to realize the limited applications of emerging technologies for social impact. Through his leadership role at OpenIDEO Atlanta Chapter at Georgia Tech, he aspires to spread the mindset of design thinking and inspire more engineers, computer scientists and mathematicians to pursue social ventures instead of for-profit start-ups in the field of robotics
His hobbies include animation, photography, soccer and bicycle riding, but he is always keen in exploring new hobbies along the way!
