An innovation space is a physical location where people gather to share resources and knowledge, work on projects, network, and build. The idea of a collaborative studio space for creative endeavors within a library has received growing support from the makers movement. By allowing this space to exist in a central campus location, such as a University library, a new energy may be built around multidisciplinary collaborative efforts. However, launching such a space is no easy task. The following categories must be considered carefully when deciding to embark on this project.

= Needs and Objectives =
<span id="docs-internal-guid-2f9e9f0b-4950-9749-e306-7b7e15fc0aaa">There are various activities that could be hosted in this space but it would be important to host events regularly to maintain student interest. Some activities may include small ideation forums that encourage student collaboration of ideas and workshops geared at building the skill set of students. Additionally, it would be recommendable to invite faculty to make presentations or host their own workshops in the innovation space. Inviting other clubs to use the space for their activities would also increase the awareness of the existence of the new space as well.</span>
