Welcome to the University Innovation Wiki! The wiki is an open-source platform that allows for community-created content (aka Fellows) to be curated in one location for easy searching and sharing. Wiki Profile Page

This wiki profile page will be your public facing biography for the Fellows program and will be associated with all the pages that you create and update.

*Please begin the text of your bio as such: "(Your name) is a University Innovation Fellow and…(insert other info like school and major)."
*Check out DJ Jeffries' profile as an example: http://universityinnovation.org/wiki/DJ_Jeffries. From his profile, you can tell that he attends Southern Illinois University and there have been nine other Fellows on his campus. You also learn about his major and interests. Make sure to add links to your school's campus page and student priorities page. *As you can see in DJ's profile example, this is also the opportunity for you to link Fellows and pages that are missing to make sure that every piece of information for your school is linked together.

Campus Overview Page (find your school's link here)

The Campus Overview page is five paragraphs that describe your campus ecosystem in relation to the five parameters we benchmarked from a Department of Commerce Report in 2013. The launch of the wiki coincided with the release of this Report, with support and recognition from the White House. The 5 parameters include:

:* Promoting student innovation and entrepreneurship: The research you conducted for your Landscape Canvas corresponds to the 5 parameters. Your research will be most robust in this section (Discover, Learn and Experiment), related to "Promoting student innovation and entrepreneurship.":* Encouraging faculty innovation and entrepreneurship: While it doesn't seem as though it directly impacts you, the extent to which faculty are encouraged to innovate and pursue entrepreneurial pathways really does help determine the extent to which they will encourage students to explore their innovative and entrepreneurial potential. Encouragement at the faculty level is one of the things that differentiates more developed I&E ecosystems. Under the "Encouraging faculty innovation and entrepreneurship" category, please provide a succinct view of whether faculty are supported to be entrepreneurial or commercialize their research.:* Actively supporting the university technology transfer function: Your research about IP policies in "Pursue" in the Landscape Canvas will give you a view into the resources your technology transfer office provides. Include this overview in "Actively supporting the university technology transfer function". If your school doesn't have a technology transfer office, you can skip this section.:* Facilitating University-Industry Collaboration: The "Spin Out" section of your Landscape Canvas relates to research centers, industrial parks and industry/mentor networks and will give you a sense of whether the University is "Facilitating University-Industry Collaboration.":* Engaging with regional and local economic development efforts: The "Spin Out" section of your Landscape Canvas also reveals the extent to which the University is engaging with regional and local economic development efforts. Many campuses also have an economic development office and staff whose responsibility it is to leverage the University's research and development for positive local economic benefit.

If your school already has a campus overview page, please take this opportunity to update it. Add anything new that you learned, anything that has changed on campus, or simply fixing grammar and spelling errors is appreciated (find your school here).

On the Campus Overview wiki page, please also include the Landscape Canvas Google Spreadsheet and Presentation, either by embedding or simply providing a link. Benchmark the Campus Overviews that already exist on the wiki and also be in touch with Katie (katie@universityinnovation.org) if you need help.

Student Priorities Page (find your school's link here)

Imagine you are a set of consultants. Your administration has hired you to recommend 4 to 5 projects to address the key issues facing your I&E ecosystem. Not all the projects will be implemented by you; that would be impossible to achieve as any one person (unless you were superhuman). BUT, you must create a bold 2 to 3 year vision in telling your campus what needs to change in order to enhance and progress the I&E ecosystem. We need you to identify the top 4 to 5 projects that you believe your campus should implement in order to expand I&E on campus. Consider this a prototype; this is a living page, so it's something you can always revise later.

When campus leaders, alumni, regional investors and national agencies review your articulate and well thought out projects, they should be able to hear the voice of the customer outlining the needs you are addressing and the vision for change. After all, your projects are rooted in data from customer interviews. Be sure to give your project the credence of this data. Every campus has only one student priorities page. This page should include all team or individual projects. For each project, list 6-8 tactics/milestones and the target dates to achieve these tactics/milestones. If each project has a team associated with it, make note of the team members names.
