<span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent; font-weight: 700; font-style: italic; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">How do  we communicate effectively to the student community the variety of  vacant activities to develop innovation and entrepreneurial skills?<span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">The first thing we noticed, is that there is an unused space on the university's login webpage  that can be exploited to solve our challenge. The space in question is approximately 70% of the login page to the university's servers. So the idea is the employ that area that is necessarily seen by students, to communicate the different activities. It will be organized in three different segments. Adjacent to the login interface, there will be an advertisement of the course of event of the week. Just below that, the name of the activity and a short description of what is about, will be placed. An Oxford research, shows that students are more prone to paying attention when they have a video summarizing the content of such activity. So this video, that will last 30 seconds, are going to be produced by the students of Centro Ignis. The third region is going to have a calendar, that enumerates the upcoming events, being a constant reminder of new activities. <span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">We, fellow candidate will be responsible for designing the website, keeping it updated, encouraging alumni to pay attention to it, and make the link between the students that produce the clip and the referent of that activity.

<li>Step #1: Schedule a meeting with the Dean  (Julio Techera) to ask for approval, with a referent of Centro Ignis, to ask if the project is possible (Natalia Espasandin), and with someone of IT, that manages the website.</li>

<li>Step #3: Make a team of Computer Science students to create the adjustments  to the website.</li>

Strategy #3: Promoting research and investigation spirit in UCU

After analyzing the landscape Canvas and by doing extensive research among students, we identified that there ́s a lack of content and investigations done by the university. Also, students are not motivated to do research about topics that they are interested with. <span style="~~font~~background-~~size~~color: ~~11pt; font-family: Arial~~transparent; color: rgb(0, 0, 0)~~; background-color: transparent~~; font-~~variant-numeric~~family: ~~normal~~Arial; font-~~variant-east-asian~~size: ~~normal; vertical-align: baseline~~11pt; white-space: pre-wrap;"~~>Also, students are not motivated to do research about topics that they are interested with. </p~~> <span style="~~font~~background-~~size~~color: ~~11pt; font-family: Arial~~transparent; color: rgb(0, 0, 0)~~; background-color: transparent~~; font-~~variant-numeric~~family: ~~normal~~Arial; font-~~variant-east-asian~~size: ~~normal; vertical-align: baseline~~11pt; white-space: pre-wrap;">Our challenge: </~~span><br/~~p><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent; font-weight: 700; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">How can we motivate students to make their own research and the creation of content that they are interested in?  <span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">We came up with the idea of creating a program in the university based on the principles of a “FedEx Day”<span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">“FedEx Days” are used by many enterprises to bring innovation to the workspace by giving employees the possibility to have a paid day-off with the only condition of presenting something of value in the next 24 hours (as FedEx does).<span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">We took the concept and adapted it to our university, in order to allow students to be absent one day a month without getting the registration of their absence , with the condition of presenting a research created by them about a subject of their interest in the following week.

<li>Step #3: Designate a faculty member who will determinate if the research follows the correct criteria and ask the professors to delete the absence of that day.</li>

Strategy #4: Enhancing students identity with UCU <span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">While finishing week 3 of University Innovation Fellows training, after doing deep research of the university ecosystem, we identified that UCU ́s students don't have a deep sense of belonging with the institution. <span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">We know for sure that if this one is enhanced, relationships between all the stakeholders will be long lasting and in return will create a better environment.

<span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent; font-weight: 700; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">How might we help UCU ’s students feel more identified with their university? <span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Students will be asked to form groups up to 20 members. The idea is to make a competition throughout the year based on the grades all of them get combined. UCULYMPICS will be a university whole olympic competition in which students will try to get as high grades as they can but with the condition that different years and careers should be included into the team. Teams will need to be formed with multidisciplinary skills from almost all the careers available. This means students will have to talk to people they don’t know, making them get to know strangers and socialize, hence fomenting identification with the university, and then work as a team to get the best grades they can and help each other in an intercarrer way. <span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">We as fellows will have to create a Platform of scores and get access to students scholarity. We’ll also take care of the definition of the price, at the moment the idea is a week of free food in the canteen but this could be changed in the future. We ́ll need the information and permission to do this and also to communicate it if it’s accepted.
