In addition to being a student, Nico is heavily involved in creating a stronger and better campus environment through her multiple involvements. She is a Digital Communications Officer at UNO's Queer and Trans Services, which is a student agency dedicated to test supporting UNO students on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. Here, she organized the pageoffice's busy calendar and manages social media outreach. Testing pageIn addition to working for QTS, I hope it Nico also worksas an intern fo Campus Compact of the Great Pains, where she advances the organization's mission to strengthen civic education on college campuses through community outreach. Nico is also a Service Supervisor at The Student Service and Leadership Collaborative (or just "The Collaborative") located in the office of Civic and Social Responsibility at UNO. Here, she organizes and runs university-wide days of service, creates an Electronic Portfolio reflecting on her experiences, and mentors up to six other students as they progress through their college experience.</span></span> <span style="font-size:larger;"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"></span></span><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: larger;">During her time as a University Innovation Fellow, Nico worked with her partner Parker Jensen to create an elective course called "Design Flaw!" What started out as an inside joke between her and Parker flourished into a class that is offered to each and every student at UNO who wishes to learn the basics of design thinking or social entrepreneurship.</span> <font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: 14.4px;">Nico was trained as a University Innovation Fellow in the fall of 2018. She attended the Silicon Valley Meetup in March of 2019. This fall will be her first time as a uiguide, and she couldn't be more excited to once again work with the amazing other fellows at institutions across the globe!</span><br/font> <font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-size: 14.4px;"><br/span></divfont><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14.4px;">In her spare time, Nico enjoys cozying up with a good book, cooking dinner and watching movies with her girlfriend, tending to the plant-jungle that is her apartment, going to live concerts, or, when she gets the chance, traveling to visit her loved ones.</divspan>
