My name Emma de Leon is a current Univeristy Innovatoin Fellow Canidate for the Fall 2017 Cohort. She is Emma; I’m an energetic, caring, and determined student. I come She's from Fuquay-Varina a small town outside of Raleigh, North Carolina where I she [[File:EmmadeLeon.jpg|thumb|EmmadeLeon.jpg]]spent countless nights and weekends dedicated to my her passion for the sport of soccer. Currently, I am about to start my she is in her junior (3rd Year) at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia (Go Dukes!). Over my the last almost 21 years I she have experienced many different, some less than ideal, situations that have driven my driving her passion and desire to help people. So because of that I am those expierence she is pursuing a degree in Psychology with a concentration in Industrial Organization and minoring in both Human Resources Development and Anthropology. This passion for helping translates into various aspects of my her life, outside my the academic community in my Greek community I serve she serves as my her sorority’s Director of Philanthropy. In this position I she plan, organize, and execute various events to raise money for the Cardiac Unit at our the local Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg. In my Emma's academic community I aid she aids as a Mentor / TA for students running the Virginia / DC State First LEGO League tournament which is held annually at JMU. Most recently I she began working as a Student Assistant for 4-VA which is an initiative created by the state to connect and collaborate with major universities all across Virginia.
