<br/><span style="font-size:12pt; font-family:Arial; color:#212121; background-color:#ffffff; font-weight:400; font-style:normal; font-variant:normal; text-decoration:none; vertical-align:baseline">The '''Innovation Incubator''' ([http://www.leuphana.de/en/partners/innovation-incubator-lueneburg.html http://www.leuphana.de/en/partners/innovation-incubator-lueneburg.html]) was particularly versatile in transdisciplinary cooperation. The EU economic development project implemented up to 16 application-oriented research and development projects at Leuphana by 2015. These collaborations between the university and at least one partner from the business community or from social, cultural or public institutions developed problem-solvable solutions in the short term. Central features were application orientation and usability on the basis of a practice-relevant task. In the two-year project period, the research projects should take up the needs of applied research and development from practice.</span>
