== Undergraduate Studies ==
 
Valerie Sherry graduated from Brown University in 2009 with a BA in Architectural Studies. While attending Brown, she played Division I Lacrosse, participated in the Women's Leadership Council "Women's Launch Pad" mentorship program, took studio classes at Rhode Island School of Design, and facilitated a smokeless stove-building campaign in the Dominican Republic. This experience led her to further investigate links between design, public health, engineering, entrepreneurship and construction methods.
 
== Professional Experience ==
 
Valerie has experience in Design/Build, Construction site supervision, Project management, Energy modeling, Environmental engineering and Social Entrepreneurship.
During her work experience, Valerie managed the installation of the prototype for a daylighting and solar thermal system targeted for optimal use on commercial roofs including those for retail and grocery stores, schools, manufacturing, food processing and government facilities.
 
Valerie is a CPHC (Certified Passive House Consultant), LEED AP, and International Living Futures Institute member
 
== Graduate Studies ==
 
Valerie is currently a candidate for a Masters degree in Architecture at the University of Maryland and works in the Fabrication Lab. She is a member of the Curriculum Committee for the School of Architecture and is interested in cross fertilization between disciplines. She believes in the importance of design thinking and teamwork in entrepreneurship and innovation and is looking forward to knowledge sharing between peers in seemingly disparate disciplines for the purpose of innovation!
