==Bio==
My name is Jeffrey Perera and I am a sophomore senior majoring in biomedical sciences Molecular and Cellular Biology at the Vanderbilt University of North Florida. Here's a little about me. I spent the first 11 years of my life in Sri Lanka until my family and I immigrated to New York. I found my passion for Biology during my childhood, running through my grandfather's poultry farm that coexisted with the jungle and exploring my hometown's fish harbor on the weekends. Whether it be in the biological sciences, or observations I make throughout my day, I love asking questions, "Why this?" or "Why that?" It makes me think deeply and has taught me to focus and appreciate the things that I would have looked over if I didn't questionotherwise. It is also the root of my innovation. Whether it be finding a way to squeeze out the last bit of toothpaste left in the tube, or proposing novel approaches to optimize current biomedically engineered technologiesgene-editing tool kits, I am always looking for ways to innovate. To wrap up, I am excited to meet and learn from you all. I have been looking forward to this program for a while now!
