==Bio==
Hey I'm Nehir, I’m a student at ITU majoring in chemical engineering. I’m from Turkey and I currently live in Istanbul. But before college, I spend my whole life in Ankara, the capital city. I graduated from METU high school. Then I decided to get out of my comfort zone and moved to Istanbul. Which is kind of a milestone for me. In Istanbul I explored my idealistic side, my entrepreneurial mindset. Seeing the world outside of my aquarium opened my eyes on environmental problems. The economic and political distresses of my country has a remarkable effect on my viewpoint. Woefully as Turkish citizens, we deal with significant economic challenges like high inflation and a depreciating currency. Nonetheless, the country is grappling with increasing polarization, restrictions on freedom of expression, violence against women and animals, recklessness against the environment etc. And as a Turkish female student, this situation turned into a triggering mechanism for me. I am now motivated to become a part of the obligatory change for my country and for our world.
I played volleyball for almost eight years. Which was a completely different era of my life. But I decided I don’t want my career on it so I changed my path on life and now volleyball is just a hobby for me. Also currently I’m doing yoga and Pilates on daily basis and horseback riding from time to time. I’m a volunteer at a foundation on inequities of opportunity in children’s education. I spend time with children from village schools and organize various educational activities for them which really helps my inner peace. I'm also a dog walker in my free time. I'm a full-time intern for two months in aris which is a big medicine company in Turkey. Other than those I am living a happy life with my friends and family.:)
