Chiamaka Uwagerikpe lives life as an adventure. She is guided by curiosity and community, and the journey has been great so far. Her parents are Nigerian immigrants and would always tell stories about life “back home.” Because of this, Chiamaka embraces diverse perspectives and looks to build robust communities. It created an innate curiosity in her.

Through thisorganization, Chiamaka embraces diverse perspectives helped plan social media campaigns and looks lead strategy calls with her team, augmenting the skills she learned in her marketing and advertising classes. More importantly, however, Chiamaka learned how to build robust communitiescamaraderie with individuals from all walks of life and how to show up authentically. The Gurls Talk community taught her how to be a better supporter and advocate for others to make real change. It created an innate curiosity in Chiamaka also learned how to ride a mechanical bull with the encouragement of herGurls, but that is a story for another time.

This enthrallment with the world around her has taken her to many places Chiamaka's curiosity and privy to great love of good companyalso shape her involvement on the University of Georgia campus. One She was a founding member of Strike Magazine Athens, a fashion and culture magazine in her college town. In addition to establishing the most transformative communities she has been a part values and tone of is the global nonprofit Gurls Talkpublication, Uwagerikpe ideated and pitched photoshoot concepts and wrote for which the inaugural issue. Other times, she served as an ambassadormodeled on the other side of the camera. Through this organizationShe is also a tour guide on campus, Chiamaka helped plan social media campaigns and lead strategy calls with welcoming visitors to UGA. Wonder abounds as she gives her teamtours, augmenting connecting with families from all across the globe. Chiamaka loves the opportunity to practice the skills art of storytelling and engagement as she learned in helps students embark on their own journeys into higher education.  One of her favorite aspects of her marketing and advertising classesadventure has been the Student Industry Fellows Program at UGA. More importantlyAs an Innovation Fellow, howeverChiamaka helps a wide variety of clients solve complex problems. She has worked with Cox Enterprises to improve workplace culture, Chiamaka learned how Delta Airlines to build camaraderie with individuals from all walks of life decrease single-use plastic consumption, and how Worldstrides to show up authenticallyreimagine the study abroad experience in the digital world. The Gurls Talk community taught She also got to represent her how to be a better supporter program in Tel Aviv while learning about innovation and advocate for others to make real changeembracing risk. Chiamaka She has also learned how to ride worked for Reckitt and IHG Hotels & Resort as a mechanical bull with marketing and communications intern. In these roles, she aided the encouragement onboarding of C-level executives, wrote articles, created media lists, facilitated brand partnerships, analyzed intranet UX/UI, and managed multiple media channels. She also enriched her experience by having an ungodly amount of coffee chats with her Gurls, but that is colleagues because she believes knowing your community makes you a story for another timebetter communicator.

In her free time, Chiamaka's curiosity enjoys spending quality time with friends and love family, making Spotify playlists, recording episodes of good company also shape her involvement on the podcast, being active, and traveling. Her aspiration is to work in social marketing or community strategy where she can help create empowered and resilient collectives.
