==='''2024 Cohort'''===
==='''Project #1: Mentor A-Bee'''==='''People in Charge:''' Ada Nehir Doğan, Nur Yıldız, Onat Budak, Tuğba Öztürk This project introduces an '''AI Mentor Platform''' designed to assist students by providing *personalized guidance,*academic planning,*emotional well-being support. AI mentor aims to create a '''tailored''', '''supportive''' environment that helps students achieve their academic and personal goals efficiently and effectively. '''Academic Guidance and Resource Recommendation:''' Based on each student's unique background and goals, the AI mentor provides: '''Course Recommendations:''' Optimal course paths aligned with degree requirements and personal interests. '''Study Plans:''' Custom schedules to balance workload and support academic success. Additional Resources: Suggestions for tutoring, study groups, or advanced materials for deeper understanding. '''Emotional Well-being Support:''' The AI mentor also tracks students' emotional health, and offers: '''Well-being Check-ins:''' Periodic prompts for students to reflect on their mental health and adjust schedules as needed. '''Resource Referrals:''' Recommendations for on-campus counseling, mindfulness programs, or stress-relief activities to prevent burnout. '''Personalized Information Gathering:''' The AI mentor begins by gathering comprehensive information about each student, including: '''Academic History:''' Insights into past performance, interests, and learning styles. '''Personal Preferences:''' Hobbies, social preferences, and desired campus experiences. '''Goals and Aspirations:''' Career plans, internship interests, and extracurricular preferences. This data is collected through interactive surveys, integration with academic records, and real-time communication.
==='''Project #2: Bee Hive'''==='''People in Charge:''' Ada Nehir Doğan, Nur Yıldız, Onat Budak, Tuğba Öztürk Students at Istanbul Technical University face significant challenges in '''securing accommodation''' because of capacity problems in dormitories. Most of the students can't use dorms and the school is having budgeting issues with building new dorms. To address the pressing housing needs of students, we propose the implementation of modular and adaptable housing units. These units can be easily expanded or reduced based on fluctuating student enrollment and demand, providing a flexible solution to the university’s accommodation challenges in the most affordable and environmental way. *The modular design allows for '''quick expansion or reduction''' of housing units based on real-time student enrollment, ensuring that accommodation needs are met without overbuilding or underutilizing resources.*By utilizing modular units, the university can significantly reduce construction and maintenance costs by using eco-friendly materials, promoting environmental sustainability, aligning with the university’s commitment to a '''green campus''', and reducing the overall carbon footprint.
==='''Project #3: Design Lab'''==='''People in Charge:''' Ada Nehir Doğan, Nur Yıldız, Onat Budak, Tuğba Öztürk It is a place on campus where students from diverse disciplines—engineering, design, architecture, and beyond—can come together to '''innovate''', '''collaborate''', and '''work closely''' with industry leaders. Rather than constructing new facilities, we’re '''reimagining underused spaces''' on campus, transforming them into vibrant design hubs where creativity and practical learning can thrive. '''2022 Cohort| "Be the change you want to see on campus."''' {{#Widget:Youtube|id=https://youtu.be/tMIEGMooH70}}

'''Project Details'''
Every ITU student needs to deal with some majorAs our fourth project, numerous problems on campus, such as a lack of workspaces, an increase in pollution, or issues related to overcrowding. According to surveys and feedback, some we felt that there should be more options for students are willing to find a solution to become more active in the issues they are facing on their own, rather than waiting for someone from industry because the institution to hear relationship between them out and actthe sector is not strong enough. HoweverTherefore, are there any resources available for those who want we have made the decision to be develop a part of design-phase program model, implement the changeprogram with suitable partners, and what is the exact process for putting those solutions into practice? #Students will express their problems they are facing thematically via our surveys on existing provide ITU platforms and social media accounts, periodically.#Following students the deadline, the top problem (or problems) will be reported chance to the administration, add value and solve the administration will announce an open innovation call to the chosen problem.#Students who think they can have an impact with their idea, will apply to our open innovation call applicationown project.#Our administration-represented jury will hear the ideasSo, and the projects that are selected to address the problem at hand how will be carried out in collaboration with the administration.this program model act?
The topic #Initially, we have made the decision to expand the challenge-based program called "Let's Innomind," which was created by our faculty champion [[Faculty Champion:Zeynep Erden Bayazit|Zeynep Erden Bayazıt]], and held last year. By guiding the second cohort this year, we will create a journey of the students who have participated, gather all the outputs of the program, and recreate the exact model for potential partnerships.#With this open innovation model, partners will come up with a specific problem statement, and open a call for students to collaborate. Students will come up with several projects with the steps of onthe program, while gaining related abilities such as team-campus problems can work, design thinking, presentation skills etc.#At the end of the program, the prices will be given, the abilities of designing a solution will be gained and the chosen students will be changed into different topicnominated as 'Change-based innovation calls maker' in our 'Change-Maker Society'.
While we were coming up with our fourth project, we have realized that especially in next step Turkey, people don't want to open their problems and lastlytheir firms to strangers, and are strictly closed to any outside interference. We want to change this project aims whole mindset of closeness for not only companies, but also students. As a result, we have chosen to maintain its sustainability, and keep developing itself thanks include such activities in the program in order to emphasize the project teamvalue of open innovation.
