My opinion and what I see in this article as well, is that you need to find people who have lived though or understand what it is like to grow up in a disadvantaged community and have made it. In my community, people who are well off and middle class donate what they can to provide a better future because they know the investment will pay off for the community in the future.

In my opinion, this example is an excellent one to understand the "design thinking" approach.
As a student and future engineer, I wish someday I could be able to really work to shorten the educational gap between advantaged and disadvantaged communities; until that, I am grateful to read these articles and learn how leaders and fellow as Jahannie Torres, created and developed this kind of projects. I want to highlight the idea of starting a change in your community because you can relate to it, and also try to approach businesses that can relate to the project too. This makes things easier to create.
