==Bio==
Thalía is , a Bioengineering Junior at Graduate from UTEC and was born and raised in a town in Piura(2023), Peru. At the age of 13, she was selected as one of the top students is currently pursuing her MSc studies in her region to study 3 years Biomedical Engineering at COAR Piura, a highly selective boarding school École Polytechnique - Institut Polytechnique de Paris in her countryFrance. During her the last year at schoolfour years, she was awarded a scholarship to study at UTEC, in Lima. All the opportunities she was granted so far have led her to share her knowledge with those less fortunate. For that reason, she works to empower women and girls from her birthplace, democratize life sciences, and improve education in her country. Moreover, she is a volunteer for social programs that follow the same objective as her, such as Q’omer Kallpa, Asiry, Girl Up and recently she has founded Colaneñas. At her university, Thalía is part of two research projects related to two topics she loves: Synthetic biology and Tissue used biologically-inspired engineering. With these projects, her team seeks to improve the health of people with burn injuries and those who suffer from osteo-degenerative diseases, respectively.  On the other hand, she is the vicepresident of BioUTEC, a biohacker space whose purpose is to democratize biotechnology inside and outside UTEC. She has also provided academic support to undergraduate UTEC students at academic risk in Chemistry through the PARA Program, a program designed by the Welfare Department at her university.  Thalía considers herself as a caringcreate synthetic organ models across Peru, creativeFrance, and responsible person. In her spare time, she enjoys painting with watercolors, riding her bike, creating new strategies to reach more people interested in Biotechnology through BioUTEC and, recently, she has found in Yoga a new way to manage her stress during these difficult timesCanada.
All the opportunities she was granted so far to become an engineer working and studying in prestigious institutions have led her to share her knowledge to shape the career of future female scientists. For that reason, she works to empower women and girls from her birthplace, democratize life sciences, and contribute to biomedical research in her country.
Moreover, she has been a volunteer for social programs that follow the same objective as her and runs her own non-profit organization. Thalía considers herself a caring, creative, and responsible person. Besides engineering, she enjoys painting with watercolors, sleeping, and eating soups. She also loves doing yoga and knitting!
