==Bio==
Emily Marsch is a 20-year-old junior at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She is pursuing a Geology major with minors in Anthropology, Geophysics, and Honors Interdisciplinary Studies.
At James Madison, Emily is a JMU X-Labs student intern, where she helps students, faculty, and community members with digital fabrication projects. Thanks to her involvement at JMU X-Labs, she has become a mentor to the FIRST Robotics team that utilizes the makerspace at JMU X-Labs, Team 3274 Rocktown Robotics.
Emily also serves as a Section Leader and member of the Flute and Piccolo section for the Marching Royal Dukes (MRDs). Her position as Executive Vice President for the co-educational service sorority, Tau Beta Sigma, Eta Rho Chapter, allows her to further serve the band by not only performing with the MRDs, but also by working behind the scenes during rehearsals and on game days to keep the program running smoothy. Prior to being elected as the Executive Vice President, Emily served as the Recording Secretary for their chapter.
Recently, Emily was invited to join Sigma Gamma Epsilon (SGE), the national honor society for Geology and Earth Science students. She currently serves in the Educational Outreach position for the Eta Nu Chapter at James Madison, and will be initiated into the organization this fall. In addition to SGE, Emily participates in the Geology Club at JMU and the Association for Women Geoscientists when her schedule allows.
As she progresses through the geology major, she has become a member of several professional societies including The Geological Society of America, The Association for Women Geoscientists, and the American Geophysical Union.
==Achievements==
In Spring of 2020, Emily received the Roddy Amenta Memorial Scholarship from the JMU Geology Department.
She is a member of the Dingledine Scholars at James Madison, recipients of the Thomas A. Dingledine Scholarship Endowment for Achievement in Academics & Service. This merit-based scholarship has since been renamed the Dingledine-Bluestone Scholarship.
In October of 2016, Emily and her teammates from FIRST Robotics Team 2590 presented a TEDx talk entitled “How to Inspire STEAM in Generation Z” at the Joint Military Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.
