Jeni Weber is a former University Innovation Fellow who graduated earned her Bachelors degree in Marketing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in April of 2017. In collegeShe's spent the past 6+ years doing marketing for education technology companies, seeing two companies through to acquisition. She currently works for an AI education startup. <br /> <br />Jeni's introduction to startups was in 2015 when she worked with joined the first student -created startup company of UAB's Innovation Lab, Satterfield Technologies. She worked on business models, branding, and outreach. This work allowed her to rapidly learn through the Innovation Lab's mentors and hands-on experience . It was her introduction initiation to the world of innovation and entrepreneurship. <br /><br />Jeni became a University Innovation Fellow in the Fall of 2016, and attended the Silicon Valley Meetups in March 2017 and November 2017. Her work at UAB as a Fellow while in school involved creating and maintaining the UAB Makerspace with her cohort. The UAB Makerspace is , a student-run organization that provides people with the resources to make their ideas happen. Jeni also worked with students hub for innovation and faculty entrepreneurship on reframing the freshman experience. She and her cohort advocated for changes in the university’s core curriculumcampus. <br /><br />But most of Jeni has 's work as a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing with a concentration in Marketing ManagementFellow happened ''after'' graduating. She Since 2018, Jeni has experience marketing small businesses and startups in annually interviewed candidates for the tech industryUniversity Innovation Fellows program. She continues to apply 's supported new fellows at campuses around the design thinking she learned from world through their 6-week UIF to her life by prototyping different careers training and lifestylesbeyond. She believes helped host the Silicon Valley Meetups as a "FAB" in staying curious March 2022 and open March 2023, as well as the first University of Twente Meetup in April 2024. She wrote the article "A Guide to new opportunitiesSharing Your Work" for the first edition of ''Change Forward'', a UIF publication. <br /><br />Since graduating, Jeni has been once took a digital marketing consultant, a yoga studio assistant, personality test and discovered that 4 out of 5 of her top strengths have to do with empathizing with and an English teachersupporting other people. She spent 6 months teaching English in Thailand realized two things after taking that test: 1) what makes the UIF program so special to her is the human connection, and learning about 2) her favorite way to contribute to the educational ecosystem there. Jeni UIF program is currently living in Bulgaria learning from a community of people who work onlineby supporting incoming Fellows and their mentors. <br /><br />
