The university has 2 technology transfer offices, which assist students and faculty with patent filings and protecting intellectual property. The offices also help with licensing technologies to external companies. U of T provides legal assistance and grant writing support, further streamlining the process of bringing innovations to market.
Facilitating University-Industry Collaboration:
U of T has established strong industry partnerships through programs that allow students to work directly with companies on research projects and internships. 15 incubators and venture accelerators provide a pathway for students and faculty to launch startups in collaboration with industry.
