Under-Promoted Opportunity for Students

In the most recent semester, I actually brainstormed the possibility of starting a consulting organization with another student at my university. We both had some industry experience, and we hoped to supply smaller businesses with some basic data analytics. We were optimistic, but, as this Wiki article details, there are a lot of legal considerations that come into play, and it is quite a risky endeavor especially when people are on the fence about the idea. I wish that universities had more opportunities for ambitious students to get together and tab a stab at opportunities like this. I think faculty support would also go a long way in the sense that they could encourage students and provide insight in a consulting-style business when needed.
