Resource talk:How to create a 100% student run makerspace

Hi everyone. I'm Haluk from Boğaziçi University, Istanbul. I also dream to create a place that many students can access to innovate from different disciplinaries, but it is a little bit different at the first glance. In the first place, I plan that the place will be about solving the problem of university and campus and be running by students with the support of faculties and entrepreneurship center. Every school has many different problems on many different subjects and students are the ones who are challenging with these problems most, so the problems can be solved with the consultancy of students and with their passionate work. The place can bring them together under the light of a goal, and they will solve problems byself. Also this place should motivate students to be there as in this text My plan about encourage people to be there is showing them that the ideas which is being made this place have the chance of being real quickly with the support of administration. When I do, I believe students can trust the importance of the place more. Besides this opportunity, giving them free space to work, free junk foods, and maybe the right of sleeping at the place may help them to feel like home, and this means they will come there and work to create change.
