Establish a relationship with university leaders
    •    Intro

Getting faculty and administration on board with a culture of innovation and entreprenuership is one of the best things a university innovation fellow can do. Having a strong connection with faculty and adminstation can lead to better student engagemtn and better     support throughout the whole process.

   •    People (who you wanted to connect with)

An ideal faculty member is one that has an entrepreneurial spirit, a position of power and is willing to get stuff done.

    •    Materials

Research and preperation are the best friends of the innovation fellow. Do sufficient research and know the background of every person in your meeting. Also be foucused and know what you want to get out of the meeting before you go in. Another important thing is to show the members of the meeting how  a culture of innovation will improve their department when they assist you, make sure that they see value added.  People are more willing to get on board and help when they know that it will also benefit them in someway.

    •    Process

The process of establishing connections is different per campus depending on many factors such as campus size. The most important thing is to be proactive and to seek out meetings with people that can help you achieve your goals. Have a goal in mind and work as hard as you can to make that goal a reality.

    •    Timeline

It takes time to build connections, reputation and to prove calue. Although once you have taken the time to build those, everything starts to work together and things move more quickly and smoothly. The timeline will change for every individual campus and situiation.

    •    Results

The result of all of this hard work is connections with faculty, administation and other students. These connections will put you in contact with people that can help you achieve your goals and make your vision come true.
