Project Name: Ideas Lab Innovation Fellows

Project by Faculty Innovation Fellows Candidate Natalie Walsh

Why is this project important to you, your department, & your Fellows?

As a unit we are hugely supported by colleagues from across campus and we want to co-create a programme that supports them in their development and can also support our longer term embeddedness. The programme also creates an opportunity to formally recognise them for their contribution to innovation on campus.

Description

I envisage that the programme will run for 1 academic semester on campus(Semester II). It will consist of a series of workshops that are selected by the group from a list of options, all will have a design thinking aspect to them. Throughout the programme fellows will be mentored by an industry partner who has a specific interest in design in their organisation.

Fellows will present their projects and plans to seed and scale activities in their own colleges and schools as part of the final showcase.

We would also like the group to collaborate on a publication to share knowledge with the broader community and build a sense of community with the fellows
