Ivonne M. Maldonado-De la Rosa is a University Innovation Fellow and a graduate student completing a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the School of Health Sciences in Universidad del Turabo (UT). She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Integrative Biology from the Universidad del Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras campus.

At Universidad del Turabo, Ivonne, is involved with the local NSSHLA Turabo Chapter from Puerto Rico as President. She is a member of the Sorority Eta Gamma Delta, Alpha Chapter. For which, she has worked with different organizations to help both her community and her country. In addition, she has worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in forensic anthropology and bio-archeology. Ivonne’s recent research project consists on investigating the technique of Cervical Auscultation for the evaluation of dysphagia.

Recently she participated in the I-Corps Bio-Entrepreneurship Workshop in San Diego State University. Funded by the National Science Foundation to learn about biotechnology commercialization paths. The Bio-Entrepreneurship workshop exposed her to promote the entrepreneurial mindset in students on her campus.

Ivonne has a determined mindset, is honest, hard worker, confident, and a responsible professional. Her performance and dedication satisfies and exceeds expectations. She leads by example, her experiences in life have prepared her to use her strengths to excel as a human being and as a leader.
