Grant Versfeld is a sophomore at Tufts University where he double majors in Computer Science & Science, Technology and Society (STS). He is fascinated by the way technology impacts our lives and plans to become a technologist working at the intersection of business and policy. Grant’s main interests include privacy, Artificial Intelligence safety, and Internet governance. His interest in these issues was sparked during a yearlong, independent research project last year, in which he explored how the practices of social media and other popular websites often infringe on students’ expectations of privacy and security.
Although he primarily studies Computer Science, Grant is an avid reader and loves his humanities courses. He enjoys combining his love for technology with his passion for english and history, and is looking to engage in projects that allow him to explore the people side of computing. Grant trained with the fellows at Loyola University during his Freshman year before transferring to Tufts for his Sophomore year.
