Engineer, Artist, Creative Spirit
Werner Born is a third-year mechanical engineering PhD student at the University of Maryland, College Park. He previously received his BS in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from Rutgers University in 2010. His current research focuses on design, ideation, and design process optimazation. In addition to working as a graduate research assistant at the University of Maryland, he also serves as teaching assistent for the mechanical engineering department's capstone design course.
Outside of the classroom, Werner enjoys a large number of art related hobbies. This includes drawing, painting, and scale model building. He also enjoys working on all manner of creative projects, especially those related to computer building and 3D printing. To Werrner, few things are as fun as taking something apart and making it better!
