Allen is a University Innovation Fellow and a Pre - Engineering Major at South Plains College in Levelland, TX. He plans to attend Texas Tech University and major with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. Allen is fromMidland, TX originally and moved to Abilene, TX in 2005 to play collegiate soccer and attend Hardin Simmons University studying Pre - Med. After 3 years, he accepted a summer job opportunity for an Oil and Gas Company and decided to not return to college. After working for 10+ years in the Oil an Gas Indusry, Allen found his new passion of Engineering and creating new things to solve everyday problems. When he was laid off in late 2016, Allen decided to attend South Plains College and set his sights to graduate with a Mechanical Engineering Degree ad become a second generation Red Raider (Father).

Since his return to college, Allen has used his experience and work ethic to encourage studnts alike to fidn their passion and follow it. He has joined an on campus group, SEARCH (Student Entrepreneurs After Real Change) and brings a passion to improving the campus and helping students achieve their goals. On campus, Allen is most interested in listening to the student body, hearing their concerns, and making a plan to improve the everyday life at South Plains College.Tyler.b.allen2.jpg
