Fellow:Timothy Straus
Timothy is a Manufacturing Engineering student at North Dakota State University. At NDSU he participated in a prosthetics research group called ProVenture, where he worked on the design and refinement of a robust and mobile artificial wrist joint. This research has led him to an intern position at a medical devices startup called Protosthetics.
Tim passionately believes in the value of making, and students’ ability to work with their hands. To this end, he has focused on increasing the availability of high-quality tools and processes for students to flesh out their ideas into real, tangible products. As Treasurer of Project P, a club focused around 3D printing, he works to bring new printing technologies to students across campus through in-class presentations as well as one-on-one training.
