Bio

River Sneed is a University Innovation Felow and an undergratuate student attending Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina. He is currently studying Civil Engineering and is part of the University Innovation Fellows cohort of fall 2020 along with three other students at his university. He is from Greenville, South Carolina.

During his highschool career, River was very involved with the academic and athletic communities at J.L. Mann Academy of Mathematics, Science, and Technology. In addition to a rigorous academic course load, he was a member of the Cheer Squad, Track and Field, Wrestling, and Cross Country teams. Notably being a captain of the Cheer Squad and Wrestling team. In his free time he enjoyed volunteering in the Computer Science department and exploring Nature. He is an avid skiier, whitewater kayacker, cliff diver, hiker, mountain biker and surfer.

After coming to Clemson in the Fall of 2019, River became a member of the COED Cheer squad and the competitive team. As a cheerleader, he works to lead the crowd at athletic events and be involved in other community events with the university and in the surrounding community. He is also a member of Clemson Boards, a student organization that promotes personal mobility and sustainable last mile transportation around campus and he is also a member of RUF, a campus ministry organization. Additionally, River is involved with research on AI and machine learning within the mathematics department at Clemson.

During highschool, River had a spark of interest in innovation and entreprenurship. Instead of waiting on the world, he took a leap of faith. Now he owns and operates his own business, Crystal View Aerial. A aerial photography and imaging company that specializes in orthomosaic mapping and aerial imagery in the construction and development industry. This passion for entreprenurship inspired River to take part in University Innovation Fellows.
