onto medical school, studying to become a pediatrician. Rachael is a part of the women’s lacrosse team, Newman Club, Graham Innovation Scholars, and the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. She grew up in Severna Park, MD and attended high school at Mercy High School in Baltimore, where she first developed her passion for hospitality towards and empathy for others.

At York College of Pennsylvania, Rachael was able to develop a partnership with a local community center in need of program formation. This allowed for her to connect the college with the center and third-party affiants to challenge students to use design thinking skills to solve the problems within the center and the community.

Since Rachael was young, she always had a niche for helping others, so much so that during her first ever basketball game at the age of 5, she gave the ball to a girl on the other team because she had not gotten the chance to score yet. This has carried over and develop into the longing to see everyone displaying hospitality and empathy to all regardless of characteristic and value variation.

On her campus, Rachael is interesting in expanding design thinking to include solving problems within the community, serving the greater population of York.
