Bio
Margaret "Maggie" Latterell (she/her) works as the Assistant Director for New Student Programs at North Dakota State University. Her coordination of Orientation, Welcome Week, and Family Programs works to increase student belonging and success. Previously, she worked in the Division of Performing Arts at NDSU as Concert Facilities and Box Office Manager.
After graduating with a bachelor's degree in theatre and music, Maggie panicked at the thought of being a starving artist and chased a wild career of managing burritos at Chipotle. She accidently fell in love with the company's culture and saw a place to apply theatre skills to the muggle world! It was only the promise of endless chocolate that lured her to Hershey, PA for a stage management gig at HersheyPark. When a job opened up at NDSU, she saw an opportunity to return to the land of Salted Nut Rolls and Old Dutch potato chips.
Maggie just completed her master's degree in Educational Leadership with a focus in Student Affairs Administration. She is active on campus as an advisor for Blue Key Honor Society, member of Staff Senate, and volunteer at various campus events (commencement, career expo, etc)
When not on campus, she enjoys time with her dog (Archie), knitting, reading, and puzzling.
Fall 2022 - her UIF cohort worked to learn more about the student experience at NDSU. They worked to apply design thinking in learning about student needs and how to address them. While they knew the work would never be completed, they have all applied the knowledge is their varied roles on campus.
