Fellow:Linnea Leidy
Linnea Leidy is a University Innovation Fellow and an undergraduate pursuing degrees in both Political Science and History at the University of San Diego (USD). She is originally from Encinitas, California, and she chose to attend USD because of its unique changemaker emphasis and its special graduate program that allows students to earn their law degree and their master’s degree in peace and justice studies.
At USD, Linnea is the president of the school’s Humanitarian Society and the organization USD Votes. She is also the risk manager of the Women’s Water Polo Club and works as the JV Girl’s Water Polo coach at her high school. In the summers, Linnea lifeguards for the City of Solana Beach.
From a young age, Linnea has been interested in the field of humanitarianism and diplomacy. Through high school and into college, she has followed these passions through the study of political science, and is now specifically focused on finding ways to create sustainable, widespread change to domestic and global issues through policy and international collaboration. Linnea hopes to take the problem-solving and innovative strategies she will develop in the UIF Program and apply them to her future career in politics and humanitarian law.
