Bio
Joanna Falisi is a sophomore at Iona College majoring in Information Systems in the LaPenta School of Business as well as Economics in the School of Arts and Sciences with a minor in mathematics. She commutes from White Plains, NY and comes from a long-line of Iona alumni in her family.
She is currently the VP for Iona's chapter of the Collegiate Entrepreneurship Organization (CEO club). She competed in the Iona Innovation Challenge in the Spring of 2020 with a business idea called "WebProfessor" and pitched the idea to peers, professors, advisors, faculty and potential investors. She is also in the Honors Program and on the Women's Rowing team.
Her passions include playing sports, being active and embracing a healthy lifestyle. Notably, she runs and operates a private ice skating business teaching young kids the basics of ice skating. Additionally, she was the manager of a private swimming association for the summer 2020 season in which she managed lifeguards, ensured effective operation of the facility, communicated with the board of the pool and ensured a safe summer while enforcing Covid-19 regulations.
She is excited for the role of UIF fellow on Iona's campus this year and looks forward to the endless entrepreneurial possibilities and creativity that the future holds.
