Giovanni Sanchez is a University Innovation Fellow candidate and Mechanical Engineering student at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art located in the East Village of Manhattan. Giovanni is interested in innovation and entrepreneurship because he co-invented a medical device with fellow candidate Ruchi Patel. As of now, Giovanni and Ruchi are the co-founders and CEOs of SPARIO, Inc, a start-up based in Manhattan. The two inventors developed QuickStitch, an innovative disposable skin-stitcher, over a six-week summer program called Invention Factory in June and July of 2015. Giovanni created the design of the device and is in charge of developing a completely working prototype.

At Cooper, Giovanni is Vice President of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers chapter at Cooper, Treasurer of the South Asian Society, Social Chair of Zeta Psi and is involved in various other clubs and organizations such as Toastmasters, SWE, and BMES. Giovanni is always taking initiative and starting new projects. When he's not making ideas into reality, he's tinkering with one thing or another to figure out how it works.
