Bio
Fiona Clarke is third-year Business and Design student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Upstate New York. Fiona is originally from a small town outside of San Francisco, California and made the trek across the country to pursue higher education in a new environment surrounded by ambitious students like herself.
Though Fiona initially set out on her college journey pursuing a Business and Law degree, she venured outside of the curriculum and took up an interest in UI/UX Design and computer programming. The ability to think and solve complex problems creatively was the creative outlet she was missing in her first year studies. She did some exploring of options and took up a dual major in Design, Innovation, and Soceity which allows her to analyze how the built environment is perceived and how it can be altered and maneuvered to incite different reactions and emotions of users. She hopes to take her undergrad studies and build a backbone for them in the scientific community by pursuing her Master's in Information Technology and Web Sciences, post-undergrad.
Outside of her studies, Fiona pursues adventure in the outdoors, making the most of her re-location in the North East. She loves to hike, especially if waterfalls are involved, and take several road trips to New York City and DC - always on the lookout for fun food spots!
Achievements
Fiona has climbed the ranks of student organizations she has been involved in since her first year at RPI and is now the Vice President of the Black Student Association on campus. Last spring she began creating the idea of a new innovation incubator on campus which she has now brought to fruit as one of the founding members of the soon-to-be RSE 3.0.
