Bio
Bahar Salman, is a freshman at Middle East Technical University, computer engineering department and University Innovation Fellows candidate. She was born in Çorum, which is a small Anatolian city with a lack of facilities. When she was 18, she moved to the dormitory in METU campus, which is in Ankara, the capital city of Turkey.
As a child of teacher parents, her priority has always been education. When she was little, she was curious enough to tire her parents. She learned how to read and write willingly before she started school, and she has never lost her curiosity since then.
She plays piano since she was 8. She started to play bağlama, which is a traditional Turkish instrument, in her high school years, and now, she is learning guitar from her peers in the university’s classical guitar club. She cannot think of a life without music.
She met with UN’s sustainable development goals and entrepreneurship two years ago thanks to YetGen, which is a 14-week 21st Century Competencies Training Program. She strongly believes that the quality education goal is the keystone for making the world a better place.
Bahar’s cheer and smile which never disappeared from her face since her childhood attracks the attention of people who met her.
