"My philosophy as a student affairs professional began to develop as a graduate student and has solidified with more professional experience. The underlying philosophy that shapes my work is that students are worthy of more than our best guesses, gut feelings, or assumptions. The ever changing nature of higher education and the students that I work with warrant the consistent utilization of theory and research to create effective environments and empower student success. The more I adhere to this philosophy and continued learning, the more I realize my personal responsibility to engage with doctoral research and discussion to improve my work as a practitioner."
