About

Dr Bahare Afrahi is the Founder and Director of the Innovation Playground of the Kingston University in London, United Kingston. She is also the Programme Director for Help to Grow Management at Kingston University.

Her entrepreneurship and industry experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm had led her to set up innovation and design thinking-led ecosystems and teams at universities. She cultivates innovation and creativity in people and teams and gears up their thinking around trying new things while maintaining commercial credibility.

She is also the course director for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management, a member of the student outreach team, a mentor to PhD students, and an external advisor in other UK-based universities. For the Faculty Innovation Fellows programme, she coaches and leads the Innovation Fellow candidates to initiate and complete their projects, all of which cultivate the innovation, design thinking, sustainability-led, and forward-thinking skills of students and staff.

She is also Kingston University Faculty Champion within the University Innovation Fellows program for the staff and students. The University Innovation Fellows and Faculty Innovation Fellows are programs of Stanford University’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (d.school).
