Hello! I am Tara Rahmani and I am a Junior Industrial Engineering student at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). I have been involved with the Tara Rahmani.jpgSociety of Women Engineers (SWE) since the end of my freshman year. I held the position of Outreach Chair my sophomore year and hosted events such as Hands-On Future, Siblings in STEM, and various other events with different classes from Milwaukee area schools and Girl Scout Troops. My junior year I decided I wanted to take on more responsibility and get as involved as I could with SWE so I ran for President of our section. My goal as current President of this section is to continuously improve our already exemplary SWE section and to expand our outreach to all grades, K-12, and to more MSOE students. This year, I began a mentoring program for our members called SWE Women In Mentoring (SWIM). It allows the current officers to act as mentors to the general members, whether it be in their academic, professional, or personal life. Additionally, this year I became an advisor for the first SWE Next section in the state of Wisconsin at South Milwaukee High School. SWE Next is a SWE section for middle and high school students. Aside from SWE, I am a member of Lambda Zeta Nu sorority at MSOE.  I have held the position of Educational Chair, and currently hold the executive board position of Treasurer. Our pillars are to focus on philanthropy, specifically breast cancer awareness, and education.
