Design Engineering Collaborative
UC Berkeley

Jared Karp is a 4th year Mechanical Engineering major with a minor in Energy Engineering at the University of California Berkeley. Jared co-founded the Design Engineering Collaborative at UC Berkeley, which serves as a launch pad for ideas and creativity for students outside of the everyday classroom environment. He has worked to foster a paradigm shift in the way engineering is taught at Cal, and with a group of his peers convinced the university to establish a charter for a new engineering design institute on his campus. He is a licensed private pilot, an exceptional bowler, and his research interests focus around green technology and renewable energy.
