Fellow:Samarth Mendke

Samarth Mendke is a trainee at University Innovation Fellows program and is an undergraduate student who is studying Mechanical Engineering at KLS Gogte Institute of Technology affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. Samarth is passionate about making science projects and believes that it helps him to develop creative and innovative skills. After choosing engineering as his career, Samarth has been involved in a lot of technical and social clubs for encouraging the students to develop skills in the field of their interest.Samarth desires to become a leader of change to bring about the necessary improvement in the university ecosystem through UIF program.

Samarth is the Chairperson of SAEINDIA GIT Collegiate Club, treasurer of Rotaract Club of GIT(2015-16) and also Creative Lead of Entrepreneurship Cell. He has been conferred with SAEINDIA Student of the Year Award 2015-16 for his outstanding achievement as an engineering student in the mobility field and for promoting SAEINDIA activities among the students of his campus. Samarth is also one of the winner of Daimler Student Innovation competition -EUROBRAKE 2015, Dresden, Germany and has participated in SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition-Design Weekend held at Texas A&M University. He is the team captain of Lakshya Racing GIT for designing,modelling and fabricating a Formula-3 car to participate in Formula SAE events.

Samarth is fond of entrepreneurship from his school days and dreams to become a technopreneur. Samarth is presently working on a number of projects that aims to help the society which can act as catalyst to bring about a sustainable change and has been involved in organizing many student activities to encourage them for developing a creative, innovative and entrepreneurial mindset. As a University Innovation Fellow, Samarth wants to pursue his passion for innovation and entrepreneurship by setting up a central entrepreneurship centre for all the colleges of VTU whose motto is “Entrepreneurship for All”.
