Ashley S. Kelsey

Graduate Student, Prairie View A&M University

I am currently a graduate student seeking a masters of science in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Communication and Signals. I was inspired to become an engineer because my father is an engineer and I excelled in math and science. I chose to pursue my masters in electrical engineering because I felt like I wasn't prepared to enter the work force with just a bachelors degree. I wanted a more in depth comprehension of the field I was going in and I did not feel that this was obtained in my undergraduate years at Prairie View. This inspired me to want to become a University Fellow. I want to be a change and a voice for other students here at Prairie View A&M University. I am involved in various organizations on campus: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the National Society of Black Engineers, the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and the woman's track team. I am always seeking ways to positively impact people I come in contact with at my school and in my community. I am passionate about learning and being a positive impact wherever I go.
