Here are our four Strategic Priorities followed by the Key Tactics required to bring this project to life.
Contents
1.Host Entrepreneurial for Non-Business School Students to Get More Engagement on Campus
- Entrepreneurship Events targeting non-business student (ex. Focus week full of events, collaborative projects and competitions to increase engagement)
- Host events in schools other than the business school to get more campus engagement
- This could show students in other majors/schools that not all entrepreneurs come from business schools
- Advertise entrepreneurial events to a broader audience on campus through the Office of Student Engagement.
- Bring in guest speakers who are entrepreneurs in areas other than typical business (ex: freelance musicians or artists) to attract interest from other departments across campus.
- Offer a course designed for non-business majors to gain a basic understanding of entrepreneurship.
This Strategic Priority was developed by UIF Fellow Candidate, Ryan. It was expanded on 9/28/2025 by UIF Fellow Candidate, Madilyn.
2.Increase Entrepreneurial Network
- Reach out to potential alums and guest speakers
- Plan the actual event (especially if it'll be cross departments)
- Allow students to be more entrepreneurial within their class assignments
- Normalize faculty collaborations
- Create an alumni network on campus for students and alums to connect, find internships, discuss job prospects, and create a network.
- Bring students from other departments on campus together more frequently

- Implement design thinking in classes across different departments
- Create a series of videos of alumni of different departments who ended up creating innovations in their field and show the videos in class and/or invite them on campus for a combined class visit in Textor Hall
- Create a Student Leadership Institute (SLI) series designed to provide students with entrepreneurship and innovation skills
