Valentina Bartora is a fourth-year medical student at the Universidad Católica del Uruguay, where she is pursuing a Doctor of Medicine degree under an Excellence Scholarship awarded through the university’s Innovation Hackathon. She is distinguished by her strong academic performance, interdisciplinary interests, and leadership in both educational and community-based initiatives.

At UCU, she has combined her medical studies with roles as a scholarship holder and administrative intern at the Graduate School, where she developed skills in organization, project coordination, and academic support. In addition to her medical training, she has completed advanced certifications in English and Informatics, further enhancing her capacity for international collaboration and digital innovation.

Originally from Las Violetas, a rural community in Canelones, Uruguay, Valentina brings a unique perspective shaped by her background. This experience has fueled her motivation to expand opportunities in education and healthcare, ensuring that innovation also reaches communities beyond major urban centers. She is deeply committed to creating projects that integrate medicine, education, and social impact, while promoting equitable access to health and knowledge.

She has also served as an educator in social projects at rural schools and as a youth leader, demonstrating her ability to inspire and mobilize groups in diverse contexts.

Her volunteer work with UNICEF and her commitment to public health and education reflect her dedication to integrating medicine, innovation, and social responsibility. As a University Innovation Fellow, she aspires to design initiatives that advance student well-being, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and strengthen the role of universities as drivers of preventive health and community engagement.
