Bio

Originally from New Jersey, Ryan is a dual-degree student at The College of New Jersey, pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science with a specialization in Cybersecurity and a B.A. in Criminology. He is passionate about bridging technical innovation with social impact, especially in areas where digital security intersects with public systems and policy.

At TCNJ, Ryan conducts cybersecurity research under Dr. Datta, where he is developing an AI model to predict and simplify common vulnerabilities using advanced language models like Gemma, GPT, Mistral, DeepSeek R1, and Llama3.3. As a MUSE Research Fellow, he continues this work through an intensive summer program focused on making technical security reports more accessible to non-technical audiences. Beyond research, Ryan serves as a Teaching Assistant and tutor in computer science and STEM subjects, supporting over 30 students weekly through collaborative labs and one-on-one mentoring.

Outside the classroom, Ryan led development of Lifting Lads, a social fitness app that won Best Use of MongoDB at HackTCNJ 2025. He built the full stack using React Native, Node.js, and MongoDB, and integrated APIs for generative AI and location services. This project showcased his strengths in rapid prototyping, secure authentication, and team leadership.

Ryan is committed to building systems that are secure, inclusive, and reproducible—whether in code, research, or campus initiatives.
